Ben & Jerry's
Summer of 2022, I took a one-on-one Rhetoric & Composition course with Metasebia Woldemariam. We designed a project together where I would analyze a New England-based company's online presence and its evolution.

Being the ice cream lover that my lactose-intolerant body was not built to be, I focus on Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream.
This company's advertising has been ahead of its time in making political and social statements through several media before the internet. They quickly adapted to social media's emergence, developing an even more robust and diverse fan base.
Inspiration
I was able to identify the growth and creativity of Ben & Jerry’s advertising through the introduction of the internet. This new environment helped display an understanding of adapting and changing. Other companies have followed in the footsteps created by Ben & Jerry’s by incorporating opinions and politics into business models and products.
Although it is now a common sight, using product containers to promote ideas and beliefs was pioneered by Ben & Jerry’s. The opportunities brought by other businesses implementing ideas can help create growth opportunities.
